Inner Tube Wallet by Lorna M. Designs
It looks like a traditional bi-fold wallet but the twist is that it's made from bicycle inner tubes, not leather. All bike tubes are rescued from becoming land-fill-waste. Room for many credit cards (3 slots), a clear pocket for ID and another space behind that, plus the large section for paper money.
Each wallet will vary some depending on patches, graphics or lines on each inner tube.
I design and create fashions, bags and gift items using rescued materials ranging from upholstery remnants, old leather coats to inner tubes and vinyl signs.
My career has always been in textiles. The pandemic caused me to shift from yarn-dyeing and knitting back to sewing. I became interested in using as many upcycled products as possible.
I use a 50+ year-old industrial sewing machine to conquer the thick and challenging materials. Every item is created and sewn by myself. My designs are classic, high-quality and unique. I love to think outside the “normal” sewing box!
