Darlene Riel
I am a California native who lives in Davis California with my husband Jeff. I was privileged to work for UC Davis’ School of Veterinary Medicine for most of my career. I worked a hectic schedule in a clinical environment. As such photography provided me with an opportunity to express my creative side and share my love of travel with others. Travel has always been a priority in our lives, and we hope to travel more extensively into our retirement years.
I enjoy taking the back roads to smaller towns and villages of Europe. I am particularly attracted to the patinas of old stone structures, cobbled streets and faded wooden buildings. My photography has been recognized for its symmetry, balance, and vivid color. I am drawn to more intimate images, one that draws your eye to an interesting focal point or a dramatic dash of color.
