  • A Year to Remember Blanket

    (Dyed from plants on my farm)
    Designed using colors to indicated the daily highs in Vacaville everyday of 2022. Each day is marked by two weft threads color coded to indicate the high temperature of the day. The year begins in January and ends the last day in December.

  • Colorful Shawl

    Woven of a cozy wool yarn, this v-shaped shawl is just what you need to ward off the chill. The unique “v” shape makes sure that your back is always covered and that the shawl stays in place on your shoulders where it belongs. In addition the v-shape creates a intriguing design where the colors intersect.

    Shawl # 1373 approximate size: Fronts are 18.5” wide; from the shawl front edge to the neck is 35.5”; from the neck to the corner in the back is 28.5”.

  • Wool Shawl

    Woven of a cozy wool yarn, this v-shaped shawl is just what you need to ward off the chill. In addition the v-shape creates a intriguing design where the colors intersect. The wool for this shawl is grown by sheep at the nearby Timm Ranch. I select fleeces at shearing each year and have the yarn produced at a local mill.

    I wound the warp yarn and dyed it to create a striking pattern.

    Shawl # 1234 approximate size: Fronts are 16.5” wide; from the shawl front edge to the neck is 32”; from the neck to the corner in the back is 26”.

  • Handspun shawl

    $275

    Jacob sheep are white with black or gray spots so when handspinning you get a huge array of naturally colored yarn. In designing this shawl I found all the balls and skeins of Jacob yarn I have spun over the last few years and arranged the colors randomly. Some of the yarn is plied and some is singles. I was inspired from a love of my own Jacob sheep and their fiber and the unique wonderful texture of handspun yarn. The weft is soft wool yarn from the Solano County Timm Ranch sheep. The shawl is lightweight but warm with incredible drape.

Robin Lynde

Robin Lynde raises Jacob sheep on her farm in Vacaville and most enjoys weaving goods from her own and other locally grown wool.

A founding member of the Northern California Fibershed Ag Coop, Robin promotes the use of sustainable and locally produced fiber and dyes. She shares her passion for wool and the fiber arts by teaching weaving and spinning classes and through the Farm Club that she created, giving members in-depth experience in sheep farming.

Robin has been a member of the Artery since 2002. In addition to wool products, she weaves vibrant hand-dyed chenille scarves and cotton baby blankets.
