Shift signup
View binder with “master schedule”. Sign up for 3 hr opening and 3 hr closing “shadow shift” for next month. This is a working/training shift. This is where changes in shift arrangements are made. Call in and have the working member make a change in the calendar if a shift switch has been made with another member. You are responsible for paying double the going rate (minimum wage) for a missed shift if your name is on the shift calendar and no one shows up.Greeting customers, keeping busy, food kept discretely hidden (eat when no one is in the store), NO CELL PHONES when customers are present.
Binder (daily procedures, screening, member info, coop hours binder). Stress that they should review the binder contents often to familiarize themselves with the store operations.
Desk drawers: cash, supplies, jewelry set aside for repair, repair receipt book and how to fill out with artist name - item to be repaired - customer contact info- date-sign- call artist, put in member mailbox drawer, sign and date

CLOSING THE STORE
You can start early, but don’t actually lock the door til closing time.
We close a 6 pm Monday- Saturday; 9 pm every 2nd Friday, 5 pm Sunday.
FRONT DOOR KEY is in cash drawer. LOCK front door carefully, test it, and return key to cash drawer.
Count cash.
FILL OUT COUNTING OUT SLIP. Fill in the number of coins and number of bills and total.
Lock all drawers with desk key, leaving front door key in drawer.
Empty four trash cans--front desk, back room, bathroom. Recycle paper, and bottles/cans in green bins, note the signs for correct bin. Put trash in the appropriately labeled bins. PLEASE NO TRASH IN THE RECYCLE BINS!
Clean toilet and sink.
Check to be sure back door of the storage room to the parking lot (205), is locked. Turn off the light switches near the electrical panel. There are three banks of light switches. Do not go into the fuse panel to turn lights off! Exit the storeroom and lock that door too.
Close the and lock the bathroom door. Turn off both sets (two switch plates) of switches in the bathroom.
Turn off all light switches to the left of the bathroom door. The switches are located adjacent to & outside the bathroom underneath the fuse box panel.
Go into gallery and turn off both wall switches. Turn off the air filter in the gallery
Turn off power switch to the stereo and desk jewelry case lights. Switch is located under jewelry case at the desk near the stereo.
All jewelry cases lights are on timers.
Do not turn off!
IN BACK OFFICE
Put keys in back office on hook.
Prepare to exit. Be sure blind is pulled and window is closed and locked in office. Be sure the exit door is shut tight before proceeding.
Press “away” and go out the back door.
Wait until you hear the automatic lock on the back door. Test the door to be sure it’s locked.
It is very important to make sure the store is closed properly. Call a manager if you have any problems.
