Rebecca Stein-Wexler
I focus on shifting patterns, both in my work as an artist and in my work as a pediatric radiologist. Interpreting a medical image requires attention to shades of gray. In silk painting, my canvas can take on the entire color spectrum. My inspiration comes from nature - flowers, leaves, fruits and vegetables; fish and underwater scenes; more recently, butterflies and birds. My linear abstract work plays with sunsets, water, sedimentary rock. I create wearable scarves, shawls, and ponchos, as well as decorative wall hangings.
