Gold-Filled Curliques with Clear AB Crystal by Meg Black-Smith

$41.00

These lightweight, lovely earrings just sparkle. I have been making Curliques for over 35 years, using every color of Crystal available. These are coated with a special coating called Aurora Borealis which adds color to the clear and picks up color you are wearing. The Crystals are 6mm in diameter. I make each pair by hand. The metal I use is 14kt Gold-Filled as I find the color nicer than 12kt Gold-Filled. The gold in Gold-Filled is fused to the base metal and is 1000 times thicker than plating. It wears very well. These earrings are simple but exciting, get lots of compliments, and can be worn with anything, day or night. Of course for special occasions or a special trip. They are 1 3/8 inches long by 3/8 inches wide (about 35mm by 10mm). Enjoy them or give them as a special gift.

Meg has been designing and making lovely jewelry since 1975. At that time she lived on Cape Cod. For two years Meg apprenticed with Andy and Steve Groag who owned Elfstone Silver and Gold. In 1978, Meg met and married her husband Randy and they moved to Davis, California. For 7 years she worked at the Silo Craft Center on campus, teaching jewelry making, casting, lapidary and even paper making. In 1984, they moved to Nevada City where they still reside. Meg has been a member of the Artery since 1979 and also shows her work in other galleries as well as participating in a few shows. Her jewelry is designed to last and to be enjoyed.
