Turtle by Laura Morton

$180.00

This is an original watercolored etching. The etching itself is about 2 x 3". It is framed to 6 x 7”. The piece and the framing of it are archival, or acid free.

An artist's Bio and Resume will be shipped with the piece.

Etchings are Fine Art Prints, printed by hand onto cotton rag paper from copper or zinc plates I have created.

In the world of fine art printmaking, multiple originals are made from a single source (in this case the metal etching plate I have made.) Each piece is an original. For each one, I ink the plate, wipe the ink off the plate's surface, lay the inked plate on the press bed, and crank it through the press. The pressure of the press smashes the paper down onto the plate and the ink is transferred onto the paper. The etching is a mirror image of the plate. I watercolor the etching when it has dried.

Shipping included.

The Natural World and its beauty have always inspired me. I love the colors, shapes and patterns I see there! I have worked in many mediums over the years, but intaglio printmaking is still my favorite.

I love the classic simplicity of black ink on creamy white paper; I also watercolor and/or add pastel work to many of my etchings. For over 20 years I have also made collages from etchings made for that purpose. I love to paint, make monotypes, collages, mosaics and jewelry too.

My materials are always of top professional quality.
