Portal #36 - Encaustic Painting by Adele Louise Shaw
Nº 36 is a vibrant 10" x 10” square encaustic painting. An abstract landscape exploring reflected light of sunrise on the water.
Encaustic painting is a process of painting with melted beeswax and fire. The wax is colored with powder pigment. The layers are fused together with fire and the process is repeated. One of the aspects of encaustic that I love is the surface texture it gives a painting. It’s a big part of this painting.
The original painting is on a braced wooden surface with dark mahogany stained sides It's equipped with D-ring hanging hardware and sturdy picture hanging wire. Signed on the front and the back.
